Wyoming FFA Association Career Development Event and Leadership Development Event Handbooks

The Wyoming FFA hosts 18 different career and leadership development events for students that cover a diverse array of job skills from communications to mechanics.  In some events students can compete as individuals or as teams.

The Wyoming FFA Association will offer a "Junior High Contest" for 6th, 7th and 8th grade students in Horse Evaluation, Livestock Evaluation, Meat Evaluation and Poultry Evaluation. These students will not give reasons, but one should review the Wyoming CDE manuals for contest rules and regulations. One team per chapter.

Chapters participating in the Career Development Event Sweepstakes must compete in five of the following eleven areas: Agricultural Technology and Mechanical Systems, Meat Evaluation, Livestock Evaluation, Horse Evaluation, Poultry Evaluation, Farm and Agribusiness Management, Agricultural Sales, Agronomy, Environmental & Natural Resources, Veterinary Science and Marketing Plan (2013). The chapter with the highest placing in five of the eleven areas will win the sweepstakes.

Chapters participating in the Leadership Development Event Sweepstakes must compete and place in three of the following seven categories: Prepared public speaking, Extemporaneous public speaking, Creed speaking, Agricultural Issues Forum, Parliamentary Procedure, Employment Skills and Conduct of Chapter Meetings. A chapter with more than one student in one of the speaking events may only use their highest placing student for their chapter placing score. The chapter with the highest placing teams or members is the sweepstakes winner.
